We assist foreign counsel and parties with questions of Indian law arising in proceedings outside India. This may involve legal opinions, expert reports, affidavits or testimony, subject to the foreign forum’s requirements and the applicable duties of an independent expert.

Overseas Businesses and Companies

Businesses based outside India may need Indian legal support without maintaining an in-house legal team in the country. We provide advice and representation on Indian commercial matters and work with the business’s management, in-house counsel or external advisers.
The scope may include reviewing contracts with Indian counterparties, addressing payment defaults, pursuing or defending commercial claims, arbitration and related court proceedings, company disputes, and questions concerning enforcement in India. We also assist with Indian law input for overseas counsel and the legal documentation required for a particular matter.
Our role and the responsibilities of any other advisers are defined at the outset. Where a matter requires separate tax, accounting, company secretarial, regulatory or foreign-law advice, that work is addressed by the appropriate professional.
